Baptism and Confirmation

Baptism is a rite of belonging in which we enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ and the Christian Church. Confirmation is how we affirm our desire to be part of the Anglican Tradition.

Adult Baptism
Classes begin in the Spring. The inquiry class serves two purposes: It acquaints the participants with information about the Episcopal Church and about what it means to live a Christian life and to know Christ. It also prepares individuals for Baptism and Confirmation, or reception into the Episcopal Church at the Easter Vigil (the Saturday before Easter) or at the deanery-wide Confirmation following Easter.

Youth
Preparation for Baptism for older children and youth is arranged through the Parish Office. Our priests meet with the parents/youth and sponsors (Godparents) in preparation for the Baptism. Baptisms to occur are at the Easter Vigil (Saturday evening before Easter), the Feast of Pentecost (late May or early June), the celebration of All Saints (November 1st or the following Sunday), and the Feast of the Baptism of Christ (the Sunday following January 6th)

Confirmation for our youth is also offered. A special series of events begins in the Fall culminating in Confirmation or Reception at the deanery-wide Confirmation following Easter.

Infants
Parents desiring to have their children baptized meet with one of our priests. Parents who request Baptism for their child are expected to be active communicants of Trinity Church. Baptism is always done as part of a regularly-scheduled church services as listed above (except in an emergency).
