  2007 Parish Life Commission

Parish Life‘s Mission:  As a community of faith, we are committed to the mutual support, care, and fellowship of our fellow parishioners, and to extending a warm welcome to all. 

Parish Life’s Goals:  Our primary goal is to have every person who enters Trinity’s doors experience community—a sense of belonging.

To accomplish our goal, we will:

  • Sponsor and help organize a variety of social/fellowship activities throughout the year;

  • Involve persons of all ages in the planning and execution of Parish Life sponsored activities;

  • And ensure that the entire parish community participates in as many of our activities/events as possible, through effective communications.

Scripture strikes a good theme for our commission:
Jesus said, “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Parish Life Responsibilities:

  • Planning various social/fellowship activities throughout the year.

  • Planning and sponsoring of other group activities, such as:

  • Receptions/Hospitality & Pastoral Care

  • Foyers Groups

  • Book Club

  • Annual Dinner Dance

  • Senior Recognition Event

  • Coffee Hour

  • Men’s Club, ECW, St. Julian’s Guild

  • Other Selected Activities

Foyers Groups
The French word, "foyer" means "hearth or fireside," and suggests small groups in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.  Foyers provide an opportunity for fellowship and focus on hospitality and good conversation. Groups of 8, combined at random, meet monthly at one another's homes for a simple meal and relaxed conversation.  Couples and/or singles rotate hosting the four monthly gatherings over a six-month period.
