Stewardship
WHAT IS “STEWARDSHIP”? Christian stewardship is grateful and responsible use of God’s gifts in the light of God’s purpose as revealed in Jesus Christ. Stewardship teaches us that all that we have and all that we are is a gift from God. God loves us and wants us to have all that we need to live a joyful and productive life. Discerning and carrying out God’s purpose is the primary purpose of our own lives. The gifts God has given us in time, talent & treasure (money) are to be used for that purpose. Stewardship has also been defined as:
What is “Stewardship” at Trinity Parish? It is all of the above plus organizing to help individuals discern their mission and to provide guidance in the use of their resources in accomplishing it. An organized Stewardship Commission led by the Vestry meets monthly or more often, as needed. All are welcome and encouraged to serve on that commission. Its vision and goals for Trinity parish are shown below.

Burn The Mortgage Campaign About a decade ago, Trinity parish raised a substantial sum of money through gifts, mostly, but also through longer term borrowings, in order to expand and improve our facilities. The Vestry encourages our members to assist with the “BURN THE MORTGAGE CAMPAIGN” begun earlier this year. Checks may be made out to Trinity Episcopal Church, with Burn the Mortgage written on the memo section. BURN TRINITY’S MORTGAGE envelopes may also be found in the pew racks. Any money contributed through these envelopes is applied directly to the principal of the mortgage. Progress on our loan reductions are regularly reported to the congregation through our monthly newsletter.
