On August 28, Bishop-elect Paula Clark will be ordained and consecrated the Thirteenth Bishop of Chicago in a service at St. James Cathedral. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will attend in person and serve as the chief consecrator. Bishop Mariann Budde of Washington will preach. The service will include the bishop's seating in the cathedral.
The consecration, originally scheduled for April 24, was postponed after Bishop-elect Clark underwent surgery on April 15 to remove an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her brain.
