This month Trinity Outreach highlights Dupage Habitat for Humanity. DuPage Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God’s love into action by building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Since 1995, DuPage Habitat has partnered with people in our community – and all over the world – to help them build or improve a place they can call home. DuPage Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
With the community’s support, DuPage Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Since 1995, DuPage Habitat has helped more than 515 people obtain a safer place to sleep at night. Last year, they served the housing conditions of 72 people through new home construction, rehabilitation and repairs. To hear the heartwarming stories of children thriving and families coming closer together is a blessing for all involved.
Decent, affordable housing is a cornerstone to better educational outcomes, personal and community health, long term happiness and life success. In the Habitat model, everyone that gets, gives; and everyone who gives, gets. It is a wonderful sustaining cycle that is the cornerstone to their continued growth and impact.
