Find a quiet place, gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Prepare to pray the Psalm in five consecutively diminishing sentences.
  • Either aloud or quietly to yourself, say the words, "Be still and know that I am God."
  • After a couple deep breaths, pray, "Be still and know that I am."
  • After a couple deep breaths, pray, "Be still and know."
  • After a couple deep breaths, pray, ""Be still."
  • After a couple deep breaths, pray, ""Be."
The pause between each phrase can be lengthened depending on your need.

Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center

Some of you may not be familiar with them. Very soon after its inception in 1976, Trinity became an affiliate board member along with several other local churches (now numbering more than 20), providing support for their many services. Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center is a wonderful resource, providing a place for healing and hope. People commonly mistake pastoral counseling for pastors. In reality, pastoral counseling is practiced by licensed mental health professionals who integrate theology with the healing process of psychotherapy, and they work with people from all walks of life. If you, a family member, or a friend, are interested in professional counseling services, you might consider CDPCC. They are located in the nearby Mona Kea Medical Park, and they can be reached at 630-752-9750. For more information, go to their very informative website: www.cdpcc.org.
