Service Opportunities

There is an old saying that “many hands make light work”. In the context of our common life as a congregation, the corollary of this is “many volunteers make the task easier.” This is especially true of our worship services. There are many opportunities to participate in services as a worship leader:

  • Reader
  • Leading the Prayers of the People
  • Helping to distribute communion
  • Singing in the choir (and/or ringing bells)
  • Serving as an acolyte
  • Being an usher

Within some limits, these opportunities are not limited by age or other factors. Youth can help lead the prayers or read a lesson. Adults can serve as acolytes. We have youth who are ushers and have had both adults and youth who contribute to the music we all enjoy by singing in the vocal choir or playing bells in the bell choir.

At this time, as we are coming back together as a congregation to worship, we are in need of volunteers for all of these ministries. If you are interested in exploring an opportunity to participate in one or more of them, please email Deacon Jim, Deacon Brenda,  or This email address is being protected from spambots. Trinity Music - Seeking Singers and Players!

It is hard to believe that it has been two years since we had Trinity’s Vocal or Handbell Choir offered music in the worship service. However, all that is about to change. Both the Vocal and Handbell choir are moving forward to offer music once again.  If you ever thought about joining either the Vocal or Handbell Choir, now would be a wonderful time. Trinity’s Vocal choir rehearses on Wednesday Evening at 7:30 PM. The Handbell Choir rehearses on Sunday morning at 11:15 AM.

If you play an instrument and would like to join the Trinity instrumental group that plays for the 10 AM service every few months, please email Nancy Moore  All playing levels are welcome!'

If you are thinking about joining any choir, there are some restrictions:

All members need to be fully vaccinated for Covid 19.  Masks must be worn at all times.  Due to space limitations, we will NOT be able to socially distance from one another.  If you have any questions, or would like further information, please contact Robert Ward at 847-815-8257, or This email address is being protected from spambots. Where's Robin?

Don't worry Robin hasn't flown south for the winter, she is spreading the good news and sharing her gifts with the parishes of St. Mark's and Calvary. Robin will be temporarily nesting at Calvary as she fills a role similar to a long term supply priest from Epiphany to after Easter.
