Trinity PADS Coordinator Wanted

pads logo

For many years, Trinity has been an overnight site for PADS. One night a month, we would not only provide the physical space (Millett Hall) but also the volunteers to staff the site. On other nights, partner churches would handle the staffing when the guests stayed at Trinity. As things are opening up, plans are being made for PADS guests to return to Trinity this fall. For the past several years, Gerald Massie has acted as Trinity’s PADS coordinator and liaison with the PADS organization and our partner churches. We are grateful for all his work! Because he is moving, we need to find a person (or persons) to replace him.

Thanks to a foundation that began with years of support from congregations like yours, DuPagePads is excited to announce that the Spring of 2022 will mark the opening of our new Interim Housing Center, a place where families and individuals can check in to a safe room of their own. A 130-room, repurposed hotel just off of I-88, on Butterfield Road, this property will bring warm beds and COVID-safe rooms for individuals and families suffering from homelessness.

Veteran's Housing

MSHV Logo

The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, located just across the street from Trinity, is a non-profit agency that provides housing, supportive services and community outreach to help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families achieve self-sufficiency. This year Trinity’s Outreach Ministry Grant Program helped our local veterans with their needs by donating $500 for veteran’s housing. The grant request was made by Rich Lotesta. This effort is a great opportunity to support our immediate community and the veterans across DuPage County. Thank you for your generosity. For more information, go to https://www.helpaveteran.org/

These Organizations Need Assistance

During the COVID-19 crisis, Trinity has been continuing to support local charities that care for those most impacted. If you wish to help these organizations directly, please look at the list below:

Food Pantries
Food pantries are experiencing a huge increase in demand for their services. They need both material and money, although, if you can donate money, that money will probably go further than the food items you provide.
Glen Ellyn Food Pantry - https://www.glenellynfoodpantry.org/
Northern Illinois Food Bank - https://solvehungertoday.org/
People’s Resource Center - http://peoplesrc.org/
