CHAPEL WINDOW

GIFTS

 3
Trinity chapel was built as the original church in 1882, seven years after the founding of the parish. Over time, windows have been donated to enhance the worship space. The most recent window was placed in 1975 in celebration of Trinity parish's 100th anniversary.

The exciting news is that a new window is being created to mark our 150th year of serving God and the community. Details about the chapel and the new window, as well as how you can become part of the history of the chapel, can be found here.

The 150th Anniversary Online Store will be available soon! We'll be adding items throughout the year, so check back often.

Serving for 150 Years!

trinity150In the spring of 1875, there were three Episcopal families residing on farms near Wheaton and they were determined to establish a church. Judge Drummond, W.A. Shearson, and James Warrach, the founding fathers, consulted with Bishop William E. McLaren and on June 27, 1875, the first services were held. The universalist Church, on the site of the present DuPage County Historical Museum, was rented for one dollar a Sunday, and Dr. Charles V. Kelley from Oak Park officiated.1

Trinity History Challenge

questionTrinity has a wonderful archive which holds a wide range of documents. A quick look through the files opens a window into the variety of services, social events, and outreach programs that have been a part of Trinity since the very beginning. The display in Millett Hall will test your memory as well as provide details about Trinity you never knew.
