Once a month, a group from Trinity delivers meals to residents at the PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) interim housing site in Downers Grove. Although this is not the same experience as when Trinity was an overnight site, having a permanent location for PADS guests has been a real plus for them. For 35 years, DuPagePads has remained a beacon of hope for those with little or no support while experiencing homelessness. Their signature year-round programs feed and shelter individuals and families who are homeless, connect them to case management and other services that can address the underlying cause of their homelessness.
A group of 10-12 people go to Northern Illinois Food Bank to sort food. Volunteers can sign-up for sort and packing dates posted in the Church Center App. NIFB focuses on delivering food and healthy eating services to the Northern Illinois community. As part of the national Feeding America network, the Food Bank is serving 13 counties and providing 250,000 meals per day.
